Draft, not yet approved for launch. This page is written by an AI coding assistant working from Joe's instructions and is not a substitute for legal advice. It must be reviewed and approved by Joe before it is treated as final, and the placeholders below must be filled in before this is relied upon.

Two kinds of marker below: [[amber, bracketed]] = a fact this page needs and can't be launched without. *** blue, asterisked *** = an optional clause spotted while comparing against competitor terms (JobCopilot, LoopCV, JobAssist), not drafted in yet, pending a decision on whether to include it at all.

Terms and Conditions

Last updated: 12 August 2026 (draft)

1. Who we are

Jobby is operated by:

Striped Hare Ltd (company number SC869047, registered in Scotland, see Legal & Company Info for the full details).

Contact: contact@myjobby.co.uk. ICO registration reference: [[ICO REGISTRATION NUMBER, insert once registered, see /privacy §1]].

By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms.

2. What the Service does

Jobby is a job-alert and matching service, delivered via Telegram. You provide information about your background, preferences, and (optionally) your CV. We use this to identify job vacancies that may match your profile and deliver a personalised, ranked shortlist once a day.

The Service does not guarantee employment, interviews, or any specific outcome. We aggregate and rank publicly available vacancy information; we are not the employer, and we do not control or verify the accuracy, availability, or terms of any third-party job listing. Always check details directly with the employer or original listing before applying or relying on any information we provide. We do not guarantee uninterrupted uptime of the Service.

3. Eligibility

You must be 18 years or older to use the Service. By registering, you confirm you meet this requirement and that the information you provide is accurate.

4. Your account

Your account is tied to your Telegram identity. You're responsible for the accuracy of the information you submit. Contact us immediately if you believe your account has been accessed without authorisation.

5. Subscription, payment, and cancellation

6. Content you provide

You retain ownership of any CV, answers, or other content you submit. By submitting it, you grant us a limited licence to process that content (including via third-party AI tools, see our Privacy Policy) solely to provide and improve the Service to you.

Job matching is performed using machine learning and AI models, applied against the career level, discipline, location, deal-breakers, and other criteria you declare when you sign up or later update via /edit. You are responsible for ensuring the criteria you declare are accurate and lawful; the Service does not independently verify or override the criteria you provide.

7. Acceptable use

You agree not to: use the Service for any unlawful purpose; attempt to scrape, reverse-engineer, or extract the Service's underlying methodology or technical implementation; misrepresent your identity or the information you provide; or interfere with or disrupt the Service's operation. We may suspend or terminate accounts, without refund of the current period, that breach this section or that we reasonably believe are abusive (e.g. automated sign-ups, repeated chargebacks, abuse of our support channels).

8. Intellectual property

All rights, title, and interest in the Service, including its software, methodology, branding, and content we generate, belong to us or our licensors. Nothing in these Terms transfers any of that ownership to you.

9. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless against any claims, losses, or expenses (including reasonable legal costs) arising from content you submit, for example, a CV or other material that infringes someone else's intellectual property rights or contains materially false information, or from your breach of these Terms. This does not affect any liability we hold under Section 10 below or your statutory rights as a consumer.

10. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

The Service is provided "as is." We do not warrant that job matches will be accurate, complete, or suitable for you, or that any listing remains available or accurately described at the time you view it.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential loss arising from your use of the Service, including loss of earnings or missed opportunities. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded under UK law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or fraud. Your statutory rights as a consumer (including under the Consumer Rights Act 2015) are not affected.

11. Termination and account deletion

You may stop using the Service and permanently delete your account and data at any time by messaging /delete_me to the bot (two-step confirmation required, see our Privacy Policy for exactly what this deletes). Deleting your account does not automatically cancel an active Stripe subscription, cancel that separately via /manage first if you don't want to keep being charged.

We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms, or discontinue the Service (or features of it) with reasonable notice where practicable.

12. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We'll notify you of material changes via Telegram or email. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.

13. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Scotland, and the Scottish courts have exclusive jurisdiction, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer-protection rights you have in your own country of residence if you are based elsewhere.

14. Contact and complaints

Questions or complaints: contact@myjobby.co.uk. If you're unhappy with how we've handled your personal data specifically, you also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
